Evaluation of my blog experience

Hi everyone!

So finally last week of university has arrived and also with this, the end of the classes before the final exams, so it's time to say goodbye to English 3, and that sadly includes the blogs post.

I've to say that the first time that I knew that we had to write blogs, I thought...really? 'cause personally I never write a blog in my life, in fact I didn't know how to use blogger before start English 3.

But throughout time I really enjoy this experience, actually I think that I´ll keep my blog page and I'll write about music stuff, such as reviews of my favourite albums, and also about new bands and releases. Another topic that I would like to write about is travels; that was something that I really enjoyed to do in English class. I also liked to read the posts of my classmates, there were a lot of interesting posts, and I guess that now I know a little bit more about them.

In my opinion, through this time I think that my writing skills has been improve a lot, 'cause one of my problems in English was how to express my thoughts, and before I just knew how to do it by speaking., nowadays I feel more confidence with my writing skills.

Said everything, it's time to say goodbye!

But I'll be back someday! With a lot of music reviews, specially about classical music and metal.

C you soon fellas!

My favourite subject

Hi everybody! Hope you’re doing well! ;)

Today’s post is gonna be about my favourite subject this semester at Uni.

I’ve to say that I don’t have “a” favourite subject you know, but there’s one that I like the most, because of the teacher and the literature that we read, and talk at class. That subject is “Study of the Contemporary Political Phenomena”, with Professor Jaime Fierro.

I think that what’s make so interesting this subject is definitely Professor Fierro, because his way to teach is very special, he has some voice’s change tone that are really funny, especially when suddenly someone is about to get asleep and he speak so loud that you wake up in a flash.

There’s another subject that I like to go, that one is “Dynamics of Public Administration”, this subject is teach by Professor Cristian Pliscoff, the objective of “Dynamics of Public Administration” is to comprehend how the public administration works as a structure itself in the State, also know how are the dynamics of working in networks between Chilean public organizations, acknowledging the factors that has been configured the actual State of Chile.

Well folks that's all for today, see you next week!

Travels

Hi everyone, it's been a little while… nah, kidding, it’s been a lot of time without posting on this blog. So today’s post will be related as you can read on the tittle: Travels. In this case I’ll write about one in particular that happened 3 years ago.

New Zealand!

I lived 6 months there, in Thames specifically with a homestay family. NZ is a very beautiful country, it has all: very quiet beaches, a lot of forests, snowy mountains in the South Island and awesome cities such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Inside the cave...
In NZ I had the chance to go to Cathedral Cove (Te Whanganui-A-Hei in Maori) Marine Reserve, which is located in Whitianga, a town close to Thames, that is one the most important touristic places in the Coromandel Peninsula. Awesome fact: the American rapper Macklemore recorded some scenes in the beach of Cathedral Cove for his music video “Can’t Hold Us”. And because of that, this song was one of the top five songs in NZ in the summer of 2013.

...and  outside the cave

I also went to Auckland, where I went to the Sky Tower. The view…simply amazing. The city is so cool, well organized, and also Auckland has become a multicultural city where people from different countries go to live, especially from countries of the Asian continent like Japan, China, Filipinas and India.

The Sky Tower view from the sea :)

Me seeing the view hahaha

And of course, the view itself :)

I really want to go back to NZ, maybe go to live there, who knows? But what I really know is that NZ is one the countries that you should visit before die. ;)

C ya next time!

Robert Denhardt

Hi everyone!

On today's post, I'm going to dedicated a few words to Robert Denhardt, tell some facts of his life and also tell you about his important works, all related with Public Administration.

Robert Denhart was born in Kentucky, USA, in 1942. He is a Ph.D in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky in 1968, and he is also Professor and Director of Leadership Programs at the University of South California (USC) Sol Price School of Public Policy.

He is well-known for is academic Works and his development as Professor in the areas of public service, public administration, organizational development, ethics, and leadership.

In 1987-1988 Professor Denhardt was President of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), this is an organization a nationwide organization of academics and practitioners in the field of public administration at all levels of government.

Professor Denhardt has public several works and books,  his major books include "The New Public Service", "Theories of Public Organization", "Managing Human Behavior in Public and Nonprofit Organizations", and "In the Shadow of Organization".

For me, one of the most important and interesting books of Robert Denhardt related to public administration theory is "The New Public Services: Serving not steering", published in 2003 along with his wife Janet Denhardt. This book propose a new focus of how the public servants have to help to articulate the citizenship interest and not to put first their own interest to keep the control of the government, This new focus will help society to be more democratic and also to increase the level of participation and collaboration of the citizens in the process of making a public policy that solve the really problems of society.

My favourite Music

Well well well… so on today’s post is time to talk about some more personal stuff, specifically, my favourite musical tastes.

I have to say that I listen to different genres of music from Metal, Latin-American to Classical Music, and almost all the subgenres involves on them.

If I have to choose one, I choose Metal. Specifically Black Metal, but why?

All started because of a cousin when I was 14 (if I remember well), he shows me some songs of a band named Dimmu Borgir -they’re from Norway- and that all those heavy sounds of the drums and the guitars and bass, mixed with the guttural voice of Shagrath (the vocalist of the band), and also the classical melodies of the keyboard and sometimes, orchestral instruments such as violins, cellos and french horns, were creating a very dark ambient that was accompanied with the lyrics of the songs that are related to topics such as Satanism, Anti-Christianism and Liberation of the being through living a life without any religion. And there I realized that Black Metal was in a way to become one of my favourite musical styles.

Several year then, I’m still listening black metal music and all the fathers of this movement created in Norway in the 90’s, such as Burzum (Varg Vikernes), Emperor, Mayhem and Darkthrone. Nowadays one of my favourite bands, along with Dimmu Borgir, is Carach Angren from Netherlands.

This is one of my favourite songs of Carach Angren. It's about a sailor that came back home to visit his wife and daughter after spend a long time on sea. And by night, he has a nightmare about some monsters that are inside his home while he's sleeping, so on his nightmare, the sailor decides to wake up, to kill those monsters. After kill them, he wakes up from his nightmare and realizes that actually he killed his wife and daughter, and all his "nightmare" was in fact an hallucination, so after this "consequence macabre", he decides to suicide.

That's all for today!

My fav pic!

Hi everyone!

Hope you’re doing well

On today’s post I’m going to tell you about one of my favourite pictures.

I took this photo last year, in October if I remember correctly, when I was in countryside visiting my grandma. That day I went for a walk after have breakfast, in company of my grandma’s dog named “Mono”. I don’t usually take photos of the countryside because I want to keep that place -which is very special for me- in my memories, but that day I said to myself, why not? So I took that photo hahaha.

As you can see there is a creek, many trees and a lot of green grass -trust me, that place is just as beautiful in real life as this picture-. I really like visit my grandma and also go to green areas, because the ambient is very quiet and peaceful that actually help me to get relax myself when I'm quite stressed, so I can say that my grandma’s countryside is my second home and also my favourite place to be apart from society.

C ya next week!
